Random Acts of Kindness

I am a huge believer in random acts of kindness. These acts can be large or small. I think it is so nice to pay for the bridge toll of the car behind you, let a person cut in front of you at the grocery store if they only have a few items...you get the point. I try to display acts of kindness as often as possible because I know it will positively impact someone else's day.

Well, on Sunday Chad and I were out doing errands and I noticed that I was running low on gas, so I stopped by a gas station in Concord. It was one of those gas stations where you go to an automated booth to pay for your gas. I put in my check card and all the necessary information. After I was done, I noticed it told me to begin to fuel up at pump one. Since I was at pump two, I hit cancel and started the process all over again (this time indicating that I was at pump two). I filled up my tank and we headed about our day.

Yesterday, I checked our online banking, and noticed that I had TWO charges to the gas station! Apparently me hitting cancel did no good! Without even realizing it, I filled up the tank for the man next to me!!! Apparently this was my random act of kindness...

Kelly and Judson's Wedding

We flew down to LA this weekend for Kelly and Judson's wedding. Their wedding was gorgeous with adorable details to cherish their love. Their ceremony was overlooking the Brentwood Golf Course. Kelly had on a beautiful dress, and looked fantastic. I was truly impressed that the isle she walked down was completely covered in rose petals. They both had written a sweet note to one another which they read during the ceremony; very cute!
Being that Kelly was my big sister in my sorority, many other Chico Pi Phi's were there too. It was great seeing friends that I haven't seen since college ended. We had a blast dancing with everyone and reminiscing about the good old Chico days!

Boston!

Fenway Park
We got to Boston early Thursday morning. We had mapped out a few places that were must sees, and obviously Fenway was the top of the list. We took a tour of the ball park and saw some great sites.

Surprise Dinner!
Sarah's birthday was Thursday. For her birthday dinner we went to a Thai restaurant near their house to get take out. From there we head to the river for a concert preview. It had been a nice day, so we were expecting it to be a nice night. Unfortunately, the four of us ate dinner in a "T" station because a surprise rainstorm came in.

After the rain stopped, we left the "T" station and headed to the concert. We sat on a doc near the river and listened to the Boston Pop's and Rascal Flats prepare for their Fourth of July concert!

Gerber's Garden
This is Joe and Sarah's garden. It is so cute! Sarah would get fresh mint from their garden every morning for Joe's tea(too sweet). Sarah also cooked us yummy breakfasts every morning! I think my favorite was pancakes with blueberries. Tasty!Fourth of July
On the Fourth of July, we headed down to Harvard to check it out. As I walked the campus, I kept telling Joe and Chad that I began to feel as if I was getting smarter (ha ha). The campus is beautiful. There is a huge statue of John Harvard. Most of his statue looks dated, but his left shoe is completely shiny. Apparently there is a myth that if you rub it, good luck will come your way...I didn't rub it. As we were walking around Harvard, Joe and Ahseem (Joe's friend from MIT) kept on talking about Scorpion bowls. Since Chad and I had never has one, they took us to a local Harvard bar to try one. The picture below shows what it looks like. Basically, there is a mix of alcohol and fruity juices involved. Everyone circles around the bowl and drinks it as quickly as they can. Joe said they usually break into two teams to see who can finish it first. All I have to say is Brain Freeze!!

After we toured around Harvard, we met up with Boomer before we headed to a Boston BBQ. These guys had serious accents. I loved just listening to them talk. From the BBQ, we walked to Bunker Hill to check out the "amazing Boston fireworks." Unfortunately, we could not see ANY!! I was sad because fireworks are one of the best parts of the Fourth of July!

My Birthday
We slept in after our big day. Sarah made us breakfast burritos (yummy). From there, we headed down to Newberry Street to check out all of the terrific shopping. We went to Boston Commons and checked out the swan boats.

After taking a quick nap, we got ready and headed to the North End for some Italian dinner. After our dinner, we headed to Mike's Pastry for a delicious treat.

We topped the night off with a drink at The Top of the Hub, where we saw a great view of all of Boston's lights.
Obviously we had a wonderful time visiting Joe and Sarah in Boston. They are great hosts!
